Logline finalist in Next-Level Scribe Competition

The logline for my script, “Plea” was selected by Emmy-winning writer Scott Frank as one of three finalists in the Next-Level Scribe Competition, which raised $10,000 to support LA fire victims.

I will receive a mentorship with Frank who won an Emmy for “The Queen’s Gambit,” and was nominated for an Academy Award for writing “Logan,” among his many other accolades.

Needless to say I am honored and excited.

My script is about a troubled public defender used to making plea agreements having to defend a woman accused of killing her abusive husband and refusing to make a deal. The story was inspired by my years covering crime and courts as a news reporter.
