My script, “Plea” was honored as a Quarter Finalist at the Santa Barbara International Screenplay competition.
A troubled and overworked public defender who mostly pleads out cases defends a woman who wants to go to trial for killing her abusive husband. While her private life falls apart, the attorney must not only save her client but restore her faith in the system and herself.
It was inspired by my years covering courts and crime for a newspaper and TV station.
