The Idaho Commission on the Arts has awarded me a Quarterly Grant to produce my children’s play “Roja Ridin’ in the Hood and Other Tales.” The grant is made possible by the Idaho Legislature and National Endowment of the Arts.
There will be two performances of the play on Oct. 19 at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center in Nampa, Idaho. Along with the grant, the production received a generous sponsorship from Angie Martinez and Legacy ResHab Services in Nampa. The play is published by Pioneer Drama Service.
The play is a retelling of four classic fairy tales with Latino characters, culture and flavor. It is based on my award-winning books, “Red Ridin’ in the Hood and Other Cuentos.”
