As a fledging playwright, it’s a wonderful privilege to hear your words spoken on stage. Thanks to an Alexa Rose Foundation Grant, I’ve had another opportunity with my new play, “Starring Jane Eyre.” I directed a reading May 13 at the Stage Coach Theater in Boise. This was not just a reading, but a workshop for me to learn how to improve the play, and I learned a lot. I had a great cast and wonderful assistant director and stage veteran Mary Morris to bring this tale to the boards, that is Jane Eyre talking about why so many movies have been made about her story, with help from Charlotte Brontё and the characters from the book.
It was a joy.
