The passing of a legend

One of my favorite horror books of all time is “I Am Legend.” My brother gave me a copy of the book when I was a kid. I read it at night and it scared the crap out of me as one of the last men on Earth is outrunning monsters that used to be his neighbors.
So I felt great sorrow at the passing of Richard Matheson, who wrote “I Am Legend” and much more, including episodes of “The Twilight Zone,” among them the classic “Nightmare at 20,000 feet.” He also was a creative force for “Star Trek,” another of my favorites.
I admired his writing and imagination. He was a great storyteller and an inspiration.
He is legend.
